Breaking Free: Empowering Women in Toxic Relationships
In one episode of The One Problem podcast, host Avil Beckford sits down with Kelly Daring, author of Is Love Enough: Worth Holding onto Or Time to Let Go (Affiliate link), to discuss a critical issue faced by many women — remaining in unhealthy relationships.
While many problems exist in the world, Daring focuses on a common, yet often overlooked, issue: women feeling trapped in toxic, unfulfilling relationships. Through her work as a therapist, she offers solutions to help women realize their self-worth and build healthier lives for themselves and their children.
The Problem: Women Feeling Trapped in Toxic Relationships
Kelly Daring’s passion stems from her work with women who remain in relationships that are neither loving nor safe. These women often believe that they don’t deserve more. Many of them, after becoming mothers or facing self-esteem issues, come to accept negative behaviors from their partners as normal or inevitable.
“They become stuck in relationships that are sad and toxic,” Kelly says, pointing out that many women were never taught how to value themselves. This lack of self-worth, coupled with unhealthy relationship dynamics, leads them to endure emotional, and sometimes physical, hardships.
