Introduction

Finding time to read and digest entire books can be challenging in a fast-paced world. However, book summaries offer a practical solution for busy individuals who want to glean the most important ideas from books without spending hours reading. If you’re interested in a topic, figure out the top five books that cover the topic. Then select three excellent summaries for each of the five books and read them.

You may think this is a lot of work. However, reading more than one summary of a book gives you a better understanding of the book. And reading five books on a topic allows you to build a sound foundation on which you can build. The five books allow you to become more knowledgeable about the topic and you’re exposed to diverse points of views from different authors.

But reading a summary alone isn’t enough. To truly benefit, you need to apply the insights and strategies from these summaries to your own life. Therefore, as you read the summaries, note important information. Also, add your thoughts about what you’re reading. Review your notes and pick out the ideas you can use on projects you’re working on.
