My Experience Working on a Non Degree Liberal Arts Education

For many years, I kept hearing that people with a liberal arts education are more creative. So, I set out to prove it for myself. I have two business degrees and a computer science diploma. I worked on a non-degree liberal arts education for about a year.

Now that I’m sharing my experiences with you, I think it’s time to work on my liberal arts education again. This time I’ll alter my approach.

How I Started My Liberal Arts Education

To get the process started, I researched courses I wanted to take. Unfortunately, I wasn’t very strategic about it. I took courses that fascinated me. I think a better approach would have been to take courses that fascinated me and would also help my business and career.

Most of the courses I’ve taken I found on OpenCulture.com. Several of them are university courses a few years old that are offered for free. I enjoyed some courses. The only course I took that I paid for was Books That Have Made History: Books That Can Change Your Life.

To make sure I was consistent with my studies, Mondays to Fridays, from 6:30 am to 8:30 am, I was at my computer learning. What I liked most was that lessons were on average 30 minutes. Sometimes, I took two courses at a time. I viewed this learning…
