When I started writing on Medium, I was filled with optimism. However, I wasn’t very consistent with writing on the platform. Eventually, I enrolled in Medium’s Partner Program. The partner program presents an appealing choice for writers who want to turn their love for writing into a source of income, because it allows them to earn money based on reader engagement. I’ve read many articles of writers who write about how much money they’re making on Medium.

Unfortunately, I’m not among those writers. Despite effort, I’ve always earned under $1 each month, which doesn’t make me feel very good. If you’re struggling on Medium, know that you’re not alone. Here’s my journey, the lessons I’ve learned, and the harsh realities of earning on the platform. As a member of the Partner Program, the struggle to generate meaningful income is all too familiar. I grapple with low earnings and the challenge of standing out in a crowded marketplace.
